National Children’s Day

Children’s Day Report 2018

Children’s Day is celebrated across India to increase awareness of the rights, care and education of children. It is celebrated on 14th November every year on the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru also called ‘Chacha Nehru’.

“The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country”- Jawaharlal Nehru.

Niramaya Health Foundation been working with the children in the vulnerable communities of Mumbai slums celebrated Children’s Day across their intervention areas with involvement of children, parents and community volunteers.

There were various activities organised by the team for entertaining children such as:

  • Singing, dancing, fashion show, indoor games, magic show.
  • Health Education activities like Hand washing, Nail cutting to imbibe good sanitation practices.

We reached out to 541children, 35 parents and 30 community volunteers through the above said event.
