» Baiganwadi Polyclinic:

Baiganwadi and Shivaji Nagar are two mega slum areas situated next to Asia’s biggest dumping ground at Deonar. Niramaya runs two health clinics in the area since last four years to provide quality healthcare affordable to the people residing in the area. The clientele at the clinic include slum dwellers, rag pickers and the migrant workers in the slums. In addition to family health care clinic, and realizing the increasing health needs of the community, Niramaya plans to start a multi-specialty clinic with facilities for lab testing under one roof at very nominal rates. Various special camps like eye camps are regularly organized. A lot of health awareness is done by conducting rallies , street plays, distributing fliers etc.
Rag pickers at the Dumping ground are treated specially by conducting weekly camps at their workplace that is dumping ground in Niramaya’s mobile clinic and giving them health education as well.
Keeping in mind the vulnerability of migrant workers to the sexually transmitted diseases including AIDS, Niramaya runs special OPDs for them twice in a week.
Niramaya reaches the below two years children, lactating mothers and pregnant women through door to door visits. The mothers are persuaded to avail the health care available at the clinic regarding ante and post natal care. They are given health education about immunization. Growth charts are maintained for the children under two years.
