Niramaya Health Foundation organized event on ‘International Women’s Day’, 8 th March 2018 as biggest Marker day with a full day activity e.g. cultural event like Fancy Dress Competition, Dance, Drama and Fashion Ramp walk. Around 250 women and adolescent actively participated in the program. The event also had session on women empowerment, self-defense (practical session) and Decision-making rights on health for women.
Attendees included Chief Guest Dr. Ashwini Kale (AMO, Health post Marol Pipeline), Mrs.Niyati (PHN, Health Post), Mr. Mohite (Senior Inspector), Dr. Gaurav Mishra (Program officer, Niramaya Health Foundation).The event started with Deep Prajwalan by all guest and felicitation of the guests followed by warm welcome songs by adolescent’s girls. Dr. Ashwini Kale spoke on empowerment and rights of women for building good health system in the society. She also encouraged women to get involved actively with Niramaya, in working with the community.
Adolescent girls in their role play had a great success in circulating message about a female foeticide, no abortion, and no prenatal sex determination. The community women and peers present herself through ramp walk. The real meaning of enjoyment was clearly seen on the faces of women and their children who participated in the event to just experience one day of full enjoyment. On this occasion of ‘Women’s Day’ event, the real women gave us huge joy and content to be good human beings which cannot be expressed in words.
